ESOL Co-ordinator

We are seeking an experienced classroom teacher to take on the role of ESOL teacher / co-ordinator at Wesley College. The right applicant would be expected to start in term 4, 2022, or the start of Term 1, 2023 and help set up a new ESOL department. We are looking for someone who can work 0.5 FTTE. You would be working on a daily basis with ESOL students from Years 9 to 13. The role is fixed term, subject to MOE funding. We would welcome candidates that have:

• A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, culturally responsive practice and te reo Māori

• A willingness to be reflective, to receive feedback, and to be open to learning

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills that foster positive relationships within the school and wider school community

• A passion for education that is inspiring, collaborative, develops leadership and is forward-thinking

• Take on school wide roles in a collegial and small school environment.


There will be a combination of in class support and withdrawal groups.
