Incomparable Programme - Work Ready Course

18 students took part in the Incomparable Programme, Work Ready course over weeks 7 and 8.

The aim of the course is to help prepare the students for life after school through being immersed in work ready activities such as interviews, mastering forms, team work and developing organisational skills.

Students began with 3 days in the classroom learning and assessing knowledge.  The second week saw students taking part in work experience at 3 sites.

One group went to placemakers in Manukau and worked alongside a team that made trusses for homes. This involved lots of practical maths activities such as measuring and trigonometry to get the angles right. Another group interested in healthcare visited Metilife care in Papakura looking after the elderly. Another group went to the offices of LM4 group getting experience at administrative jobs and experiencing office life. 

The students did amazingly well and we received great feedback from the employers.

The college will continue to offer the Incomparable Programme for students in 2024.
