Greetings Brian,
My name is Brendon, my wife Georgina and our son Hunter, had the pleasure of welcoming four Wesley College 1st XV members into our home on Friday night before the Wesley College 1st XV game against Lindisfarne College. I can assure you I’m not much for writing letters but in this case I feel really compelled to. I cannot speak highly enough of the young men we hosted from Wesley College, the way they represented themselves, their families and your proud school.
The respect Mark Uhatahi, Kaliova Lumuni, Kepu Taufo-ou and Tevita Ratulevu showed us, the effort they made to engage, help out where they could, relax, laugh with us and the way they carried themselves, really added something to our home and was a special experience.
To then watch the Wesley 1st XV play the next day in the toughest of 1st XV battles and be rewarded for their commitment, connection and composure with a well earned, last minute victory is something the team and the school should be extremely proud of.
I know that you, the staff and board of Wesley College are deeply committed to supporting the growth and development of better young men and women at Wesley. Keep up the great work and please pass our thanks onto four great young Wesley men. It really was our pleasure to meet and host them.
Respect and Kia Kaha.

March 2026,
Hey team, I recently had an encounter with a student from Wesley College that I believe deserves recognition.
A young man named Rene French noticed a couple of individuals attempting to steal a package that had been delivered to my address. Without hesitation, he chased them down, recovered the package, and later contacted me via email to arrange its return. When he didn’t receive a response, he went out of his way to personally deliver the package back to my address.
When he recovered the package it had already been partially opened, revealing the contents inside. Despite this, he made every effort to ensure it was returned to its rightful owner.
What made the gesture even more impressive was that he refused to accept any payment or reward for his efforts.
For context, the package contained a pair of new Jordan 4s — something that was extremely popular when I was in high school and, judging by current trends, likely still is today. Despite that, Rene showed no hesitation in doing the right thing and ensuring the package was safely returned.
His honesty, initiative, and integrity are truly commendable. Experiences like this reinforce the positive things I’ve heard about Wesley College and the character of its students.
I simply wanted to make sure this good deed didn’t go unnoticed. Apologies if the name is incorrect — I’m going off the name attached to the email I received. If any further information is needed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Acknowledgement of Wesley College Duke of Edinburgh Students.
Auckland Sea Kayaks has had the pleasure of working with your Year 11 and 12 Duke of Edinburgh Award students over the past week. This course encourages students to step outside their comfort zones, try new experiences, and build connections with peers they may not typically interact with in a classroom setting.
We work with around 25 schools from across the North Island, and I’d like to take a moment to congratulate you on the calibre of your students. They were responsive, well-mannered, and eager to learn, a real credit to Wesley College and clear examples of future leaders in your community.
The teacher supporting the group, Rod Jack, was fantastic to work alongside. It’s always great to collaborate with another educator who is genuinely passionate about outdoor education and student development.
Kind regards,
Nic Mead, Auckland Sea Kayaks

I am a 79 year old man who experienced one of your students after alighting from the train at Papakura Monday afternoon around 4pm.
I was a bit shaky after a minor surgical procedure at Middlemore earlier and this young man, who identified himself as being a student at Wesley stepped up to help me.
He walked me across the bridge to the station and then down 101 steps to ground level. His assistance was greatly appreciated and he insisted on walking me to my car some 150m away.
I offered him a ride to his home in the Keri/Redhill area but his mother had arrived to pick him up.
At my car he held the door open for me and saw me safely inside.
You should be proud of this young man as should his family...he is a leader and well schooled.
He gave his name as Dallas.
Sincerely,
John Jennings

We really appreciate the school’s commitment to transparency and student success through the weekly performance updates.
This consistent communication allows us parents to stay actively involved in our children learning and progress, and it supports early intervention when needed.
It's a clear reflection of a student-centered approach and strong home-school partnership.  Well done Wesley College.
Have a restful weekend.

Students at the Moana Pasifika Vs Hurricanes Game
Dear Principal, my name is Tasha Bowen and I was working on the Presenting Team at the game mentioned above and had the opportunity to interview a couple of your students during the game.
Can I just say, how Bloody well behaved they ALL were. The whole school that was there!!!|
The 2 prefects were amazing to interview, and all the boys were soo respectful when I had asked them not to throw up inappropriate hand signs or yell out in the background. They replied with 'Yes Miss'.
Then when I got them to yell out in the background, they were brilliant.
They supported the game and the team by doing little hymns and chants right throughout the game and it really helped the atmosphere pumped for the team when they needed it most.
So I want to say Congratulations to you as the Principal and that you should be very proud of your boys as they were respectful and acted like gentlemen that night!!!

March 2025
Good day,
I am emailing to provide feedback on a well behaved student. A student that lived out the Wesley College values; family , respect, responsibility and Excellence.
On Saturday night I attended the Moana Pasifika vs. Hurricanes game, with my family. During the game my daughter (aged 3 years old) wanted a Moana Pasifika flag. We went on a search around the stadium to the where one could obtain these flags. Unfortunately there was no more available. I saw a pupil neatly dressed in full school uniform with a flag in hand. We approached him to ask if he knew where we could obtain a flag.  The pupil started respectfully explaining with the word "sir", that they were handed out during entry. During the explanation, the pupil 'Eric' saw the rather sad 3 year old girl and noticed that she was my daughter (family). Eric took on the responsibility and put out his hand with a flag in it and offered her his flag politely "you can have my flag".  As such would like to compliment Eric Tausala.
Furthermore would like to compliment the Wesley College. The student clearly identified the importance of family, was well respectful and took on the responsibility to give his own to another. All of which encompassed excellence.  To equip a young man with such values is aspiring.
Mr. E. Stacey

RE: Wesley College Digital Navigators
Thank you for the warm welcome. Your team is making significant strides in digital technologies, evident from the capabilities of your students. I'd like to commend the students for their exemplary manners, consideration, and enthusiasm. Their digital skills left a lasting impression on us.
I'll be discussing the 2024 proposal tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to the exciting possibilities. Let's bring it to fruition!
I'd like to express my gratitude once more for the beautiful atmosphere and spirit we experienced at Wesley. Your hospitality was truly appreciated. The carrot cake and the chocolate cake were on point 😜.
I look forward to speaking soon,

I’m sending this email in relation to a bunch of your boys who have just disembarked the 394 bus today in paerata rise from Pukekohe.
These boys (and I did not get their names but one has a plaster under his eye) showed extreme maturity when a “special” member of society decided it was appropriate to call them some very unnecessary names. It could have turned into a brawl on the bus but your students took it upon themselves to de-escalate the situation and even when they left the bus said good bye to the member who had used the racial slurs.
Their respect and maturity in that situation was remarkable and showed the values of your school.
If I knew their names I would put them in this email because they deserve a pat on the back for their behaviour.
Not only am I grateful but I am proud of the young men you are teaching.
Regards, R Patrick
