Safeguarding at Wesley College
At Wesley College, safeguarding is a fundamental priority. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment where all children and young people are protected from harm, abuse, and neglect. Our approach is proactive and rooted in a whole-of-school responsibility to promote the safety and wellbeing of every student.
As part of our commitment, Wesley College has adopted the Child Wise framework, which is based on the 10 Child Safe Standards developed in response to the findings of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Abuse. These standards provide a robust foundation for creating a child-safe culture, focusing on preventing physical abuse, emotional harm, and neglect.
Staff at all levels receive ongoing training and support to implement these standards effectively, and we maintain clear policies and procedures to respond to any concerns swiftly and appropriately. We work in partnership with families, students, and external agencies to ensure that safeguarding is embedded in every aspect of college life.
Wesley College believes that the safety and wellbeing of children is everyone's responsibility, and we are unwavering in our commitment to uphold the highest standards of child safety.
