In week two, the Year 13 students travelled to Blockhouse Bay to camp at the Motu Moana Scout Camp.
The camp site is positioned next to Green Bay beach and bush land and has been at this site since 1941. Despite being in Auckland City, it did not feel that way.

Year 13 camp theme

Year 13 camp purpose
Our purpose is to come together and build strong connections, ngaue fakataha and whanaungatanga. It is hoped that through this journey at Motu Moana, we can set the tone for our final year at Wesley College.

Students participated in rock climbing, abseiling, archery, team sports, water sliding, orienteering and team building challenges. A highlight during our stay was the BBQ, campfire and marshmallows, beach visit and tug-o-war.

Thank you to our Wesley College cooks Trish and Cathy, Motu Moana camp manager Gloria, Youth Town facilitators, Mrs Saunders, Mrs du Plessis, Miss Martin, Mrs Pole, Mr Eason and to all our Y13 students who made the week enjoyable through their maturity and self-managing skills.
