Parents, Caregivers & Students
A reminder that Saturday 12th September is big day for South Auckland students and Manukau Institute of Technology. I strongly recommend that any student from current Year 10 upwards attend to research their future study and career options at university level. Parents are most welcome, and encouraged, to attend with their children.
The open days are based at MIT Manukau and their Tech base, located opposite the main campus. Their main campus occupied the building above the train station at Manukau. The Open Days run from 09.30am to 12.30pm. Transport is simple by train, by bus with the bus stop located right outside their building. The MIT car parks are open and free.
Purpose:
To visit specific departments of your choice to gain course information about course content and scholarship information. To chat to current staff and students. Very useful contacts can also be made. I recommend all students from Year 10 to Year 13 visit the open days, if they are curious about or intend to study at MIT. MIT is particularly known for its trades training in the various branches of Engineering, Hospitality, Health care, Child care and many other areas.
Meeting me:
Please note that attendance is at the preference/discretion of each student/family. This is NOT a Wesley College arranged trip. However. I will be on hand if students wish to meet me so I can support and advise. I will be at the main campus and the Tech Park throughout the morning following. Students and parents can of course email me on the day in case they need assistance, at: [email protected]
Dress:
There is no dress code for this event. Students will represent Wesley College really well if they wear Number 1’s or usual school uniform. However, most visiting students don’t wear school uniform so mufti is perfectly acceptable.
