What a fantastic way to finish the term with our Fijian Language Week celebrations. Vinaka vakalevu to our Fijian students and families for sharing such an uplifting celebration of culture and for providing an amazing lunch for our community.
Thank you also to all the whaanau who attended our Student-Led Conferences. Taking the time to understand where your children are academically is crucial as we head into next term, with NCEA externals and junior examinations fast approaching.
As a kura, we have recently celebrated a number of positive reports that highlight just how well Wesley College is tracking. Academic achievement data, our Special Character Evaluation, feedback from ERO, and the outstanding responses from our student voice surveys (see below) all point to a school in great heart and moving confidently forward.
To complement this, we have recently completed a whaanau survey, and the initial results are equally encouraging. We look forward to sharing these findings with our community once the data has been fully compiled and analysed. Here is a snapshot:
Key Findings of Parent Survey
• 90% of respondents either agree or strongly agree that their whaanau feel positive about the College this term.
• Communication is a major strength, with 100% of respondents agreeing or strongly agreeing that they feel well-informed about what is happening at school. Not a single respondent selected neutral or negative responses.
• 86% of whaanau agree or strongly agree that their child feels supported emotionally, socially, and culturally at school.
• 90% of respondents satisfied with the academic progress their child is making.
• 79% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they feel connected to the College community.

Student Voice Surveys - Wellbeing Remains Exceptionally Strong
Student wellbeing data provides further evidence that Wesley is creating an environment where young people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
Key wellbeing findings showed:
• 97% of students feel positive about their overall wellbeing.
• 98% have a positive understanding of safeguarding.
• 95% feel positive about their social wellbeing.
• 95% feel positive about their academic wellbeing.
• 95% feel positive about their spiritual wellbeing.
• 93% feel positive about their physical wellbeing and safety at Wesley College.
We now look forward to a well-earned break and wish all our students, staff, and whaanau a restful and blessed holiday period.
