Acting Principal's Update - 4 November 2021

Tena tatou katoa

The return to school since Monday October 25th has been a successful transition. In the last two weeks we have welcomed back our students sitting Level 1 to 3 assessment standards and assisting their preparation for the NZQA External exams which start on November 22nd.

All health and safety procedures have been in place since our return. We have followed the public health measures from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to ensure we can keep everyone onsite as safe as possible.

Staff that are onsite have met the necessary health requirements to be working and teaching at the college and students have adapted to our new health expectations when onsite during the school day and in the hostels.

Teaching staff have enjoyed the opportunity to work with students onsite while also providing online learning for those that have remained at home.

Overall, we are doing all we can to make sure our students can complete their remaining assessment standards with success and have the confidence to enter the NZQA exams to perform to the best of their ability.

Our school Prize Giving to celebrate 2021 will look different due to COVID restrictions. Unfortunately, we will not celebrate as a school and as a community onsite as we have done in the past. We will send out more information on what this will look like soon.

I would like to thank all staff, students and our community for doing all we can to ensure term 4 is a success.

I encourage families to consider being vaccinated against Covid 19 for the safety of your children and others at the school.

As per the Governments mandate schools are required to maintain a Covid 19 Vaccination register please provide a copy of your son/daughter’s vaccination record as soon as possible.
