Recycle a device

A team of students spent the day on Friday 9th August learning how to refurbish a laptop thanks to a company called Recycle A Device (RAD).

This involved taking a non-working laptop that is under 10 years old, taking it apart and putting it back together again.  The students learnt how to perform a data sanitation to remove personal information, learn the main components and taking apart key parts to understand how the laptop works. Finally, the students rebuilt and tested the machines to ensure they are in good working order. The leaders from RAD will continue to work with the students in the future to give them the skills needed to refurbish old laptops.

A big thanks to the leaders at RAD for helping our Wesley students learn a new skill.
